Rosh HaShanah – High Holidays Drive 5770
A divorced mother of five who receives no support from her ex-husband told Bambi that she doesn’t even have basics in the house to cook like macaroni. Her fifteen year old son took it upon himself to work at the local grocer in order that there should be food in the house.
Unfortunately stories like this abound. People can’t afford to pay their electricity or water bills. It may have poured everywhere else this summer, but in Israel, they recently raised the water price because of the severe drought here. And now that the school year is starting, it’s simply impossible for people to purchase school supplies -even secondhand.
Don’t let these families face the holidays without any hope. Help us bring some light into these bleak situations, circumstances that none of us should ever have to experience. Please help us bring happiness to these destitute people at the time of the New Year and Sukkot.
We are all aware of the timeless adage that “Repentance, prayer and charity will annull the evil decree.”
Matan B’seter Bambi is endorsed by rabbinic leaders across the Torah spectrum, a list of whom you can see by clicking here.
